Our 2025 Scholarship Winners

 

Metropolitan Male Choir SA Prize

Natasha Paran is 15 years old and attends Pembroke School. She plays the Violin and has studied music for 12 years for which she holds both the Associate and Licentiate Diplomas. She has been studying with Dr Elizabeth Layton from the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the Adelaide University for the past 4 years.

She has previously performed for 2 years in Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, touring Hong Kong and Indonesia.

In 2021 Natasha joined the Adelaide Youth Orchestra and was a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra in 2022. Natasha’s other successes include prizes in the Adelaide Eisteddfod.

 

 

The Sieben-Scott Prize

Jonathan Wong is 13 y.o. and attends Prince Alfred College. He started playing the piano as a 5 y.o. and his tutor is Ms Monica Laczofy OAM.  He holds the AMEB Licentiate Diploma and has won numerous 1st prizes and awards in Adelaide and International piano competitions, including the Ethel Cooper Scholarship in 2021 and 2022, plus the MMCSA’s June Genders Award in 2024.

Jonathan has also been invited to perform for the S.A. Governor at Government House and has presented performances Recitals Australia since 2021 in their lunch hour series on Radio 5MBS or 99.9 FM.

Tiger Wu is 15 y.o. and attends St Peters Boys College. He has studied music since he was aged 7, specialising in saxophone. In 2023, he achieved a distinction in the Associate Diploma for Saxophone and in 2024 studied for the Licentiate Exam for Saxophone and the Associate Exam for Violin.

Tiger has also been involved in a number of aspects of music including bands, orchestras, choirs and in the music department at his school.
