Variety 2024

Variety: Our Musical Celebration

We are planning a wonderful Variety Program for you! We will return to the Norwood Concert Hall on Sunday, 25 August at 2:00pm. Along with the Choir, you will enjoy the sounds of our MMCSA Orchestra and our outstanding 2024 scholarship winner, Samantha Li on the piano.

A Celebration of Voice and Instruments!

There will be 100 performers on the stage as the Choir and MMCSA Orchestra perform operatic highlights, grand classics, sacred and folk songs and Broadway favourites.

You will enjoy the lively toe-tappers “One Fine Day” and  “Rhythm of Life”, the beautiful “Nella Fantasia” and “Cantique de Jean Racine”, and the powerful “Amazing Grace” and “Anthem” from Chess.

Also performing will be First Prize winner of the 2024 Scholarship, Samantha Li. If you attended the Songs of Faith Concert in April, you will remember her outstanding performance and at the Variety Concert she will be performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto 1, Opus 11, 2nd movement and the dazzling “Liebestod” from Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde.

The MMCSA Orchestra will, of course, support much of the Choir’s music, Samantha Li’s Chopin solo and they will also perform the stirring first movement of Dvorak’s 8th symphony and some Aaron Copland favourites
